As part of National Diabetes Awareness month, the University of Maryland Medical System has organized a system-wide community health initiative on diabetes.
The initiative features classes and events around diabetes at each of the 12 UMMS hospitals. During the week of November 12th Civista Medical Center will feature diabetic-friendly recipes, education and daily tips on their Facebook page.
On November 12 at 2:00 pm, Betsy Wolford, RD, CDE will host a lecture titled “Healthy Changes for People with Diabetes.” The lecture is free to the members of community and will focus on monitoring glucose levels, diet, exercise, medication and importance of monitoring A1C levels.
